કોંગ્રેસ અધ્યક્ષ મલ્લિકાર્જુન ખડગેએ અભિષેક મનુ સિંઘવીની ઉમેદવારીને મંજૂરી આપી દીધી છે.

અભિષેક મનુ સિંઘવી જાણીતા કાનૂની નિષ્ણાત અને રાજકારણી છે.

આ વર્ષે એપ્રિલમાં કોંગ્રેસે સિંઘવીને હિમાચલ પ્રદેશથી રાજ્યસભા ચૂંટણી માટે પોતાના ઉમેદવાર બનાવ્યા હતા.

જો કે કોંગ્રેસના કેટલાક ધારાસભ્યોના બળવાને કારણે તેઓ ચૂંટણી હારી ગયા હતા. ભાજપના હર્ષ મહાજન રાજ્યસભામાં ચૂંટાયા હતા.

કેશવ રાવના રાજ્યસભામાંથી રાજીનામાને પગલે આ બેઠક ખાલી પડી હતી.
