મણિપુરમાં મહિનાઓથી ચાલી રહેલી હિંસા પર મુખ્યમંત્રી એન બિરેન સિંહે રાજ્યની જનતાની માફી માંગી છે.

તેમણે કહ્યું કે આ આખું વર્ષ ખૂબ જ દુર્ભાગ્યપૂર્ણ રહ્યું છે. ગત 3 મેથી લઈને આજ સુધી જે કંઈ પણ થઈ રહ્યું છે તેના માટે હું રાજ્યની જનતાની માફી માંગવા માંગુ છું.

ઘણા લોકોએ તેમના પ્રિયજનોને ગુમાવ્યા છે. ઘણા લોકો તેમના ઘર છોડી ગયા. હું ખેદ અનુભવું છું. હું માફી માંગુ છું.

મને આશા છે કે છેલ્લા ત્રણ-ચાર મહિનામાં શાંતિ તરફની પ્રગતિ જોયા પછી, હું માનું છું કે 2025 સુધીમાં રાજ્યમાં સ્થિતિ સામાન્ય થઈ જશે.

CMની આ માફી મહિનાઓ પછી આવી છે. આ દિવસો દરમિયાન હિંસાને કારણે ઘણા પરિવારો નાશ પામ્યા. આવી સ્થિતિમાં જનતા તેમને માફ કરી શકશે?

મહત્વનું છે કે મણિપુરમાં ગયા વર્ષે મે મહિનાથી જાતિય હિંસા ચાલી રહી છે, જેમાં અત્યાર સુધીમાં 200થી વધુ લોકો માર્યા ગયા છે અને હજારો લોકો સ્થળાંતરિત પણ થયા છે.
