Droupadi Murmu Siachen Base Camp: ભારતના રાષ્ટ્રપતિ દ્રૌપદી મુર્મુએ આજે (26 સપ્ટેમ્બર, 2024) સિયાચીન બેઝ કેમ્પની મુલાકાત લીધી હતી અને સિયાચીન યુદ્ધ સ્મારક ખાતે તેમને શ્રદ્ધાંજલિ અર્પણ કરી હતી, જે સૈનિકો અને અધિકારીઓના બલિદાનનું પ્રતીક છે, જેઓ ભારતીય સેનાએ 13 એપ્રિલ, 1984ના રોજ સિયાચીન ગ્લેશિયર પર ઓપરેશન મેઘદૂત શરૂ કર્યું ત્યારથી શહીદ થયા છે. તેણીએ ત્યાં તૈનાત સૈનિકોને પણ સંબોધિત કર્યા.
સૈનિકોને ( Siachen Base Camp ) સંબોધતા રાષ્ટ્રપતિએ કહ્યું કે સશસ્ત્ર દળોના સર્વોચ્ચ કમાન્ડર તરીકે તેમને તેમના પર ખૂબ ગર્વ અનુભવાય છે અને તમામ નાગરિકો તેમની બહાદુરીને સલામ કરે છે.
રાષ્ટ્રપતિએ કહ્યું કે એપ્રિલ 1984માં ઓપરેશન મેઘદૂતની શરૂઆત થઈ ત્યારથી ભારતીય સશસ્ત્ર દળોના બહાદુર સૈનિકો ( Indian Army ) અને અધિકારીઓએ આ ક્ષેત્રની સુરક્ષા સુનિશ્ચિત કરી છે. તેઓ ગંભીર હવામાન પરિસ્થિતિઓનો સામનો કરે છે. ભારે હિમવર્ષા અને માઈનસ 50 ડિગ્રી તાપમાન જેવી મુશ્કેલ પરિસ્થિતિઓમાં તેઓ સંપૂર્ણ નિષ્ઠા અને તકેદારી સાથે તેમના મોરચા પર તૈનાત રહે છે. તેઓ માતૃભૂમિના રક્ષણમાં બલિદાન અને સહિષ્ણુતાના અસાધારણ ઉદાહરણો રજૂ કરે છે. તેણીએ સૈનિકોને કહ્યું કે તમામ ભારતીયો તેમના બલિદાન અને બહાદુરીથી વાકેફ છે અને અમે તેમનું સન્માન કરીએ છીએ.
