Hansal Mehta’s Gandhi : ‘સ્કેમ 1992’ જેવી લોકપ્રિય વેબ સિરીઝ આપનાર હંસલ મહેતા અને પ્રતિક ગાંધી (Pratik Gandhi)ની નવી સિરીઝ ‘ગાંધી’ હવે આંતરરાષ્ટ્રીય મંચ પર ધમાકેદાર એન્ટ્રી કરવા જઈ રહી છે. આ સિરીઝનું વર્લ્ડ પ્રીમિયર ટોરોન્ટો ઇન્ટરનેશનલ ફિલ્મ ફેસ્ટિવલ (Toronto International Film Festival) 2025ના 50મા સંસ્કરણમાં થશે. આ ફેસ્ટિવલના પ્રાઇમટાઇમ સ્લેટમાં પસંદ થનાર પ્રથમ ભારતીય સિરીઝ તરીકે ‘ગાંધી’નો સમાવેશ થયો છે

હંસલ મહેતાની જાહેરાત અને ભાવનાત્મક સંદેશ
હંસલ મહેતાએ પોતાના X (Twitter) એકાઉન્ટ પર ‘ગાંધી’નો પહેલો લુક શેર કર્યો અને લખ્યું કે “વિશ્વાસ અને દૃઢતાથી જન્મેલી એક ક્રાંતિ હવે વિશ્વ મંચ પર પગલાં મૂકી રહી છે.” તેમણે જણાવ્યું કે આ સિરીઝ એક સાથે વ્યક્તિગત અને વૈશ્વિક સ્તરે અસરકારક છે. આ સિરીઝ માટે એ આર રહેમાન દ્વારા સંગીત આપવામાં આવ્યું છે.આ સિરીઝમાં મહાત્મા ગાંધીની ભૂમિકા પ્રતિક ગાંધી (Pratik Gandhi) નિભાવી રહ્યા છે, જ્યારે કસ્તુરબા ગાંધી તરીકે ભામિની ઓઝા (Bhamini Oza) જોવા મળશે. બંને કલાકારોએ સોશિયલ મીડિયા પર પોતાની ખુશી વ્યક્ત કરી છે અને આ સિરીઝને ભારત માટે ગૌરવપૂર્ણ ક્ષણ ગણાવી છે.

‘ગાંધી’ સિરીઝ જાણીતા ઇતિહાસકાર રામચંદ્ર ગુહા (Ramachandra Guha)ની બે પુસ્તકો ‘Gandhi Before India’ અને ‘Gandhi: The Years That Changed the World’ પર આધારિત છે. ટોરોન્ટો ફિલ્મ ફેસ્ટિવલ 4 થી 14 સપ્ટેમ્બર 2025 દરમિયાન યોજાશે.
