આજે વહેલી સવારે જાપાન અને ફિલિપાઈન્સમાં ભૂકંપના જોરદાર આંચકા અનુભવાયા છે.

જાપાનમાં ભૂકંપની તીવ્રતા 5.1 રહી હતી જ્યારે ફિલિપાઈન્સમાં ભૂકંપની તીવ્રતા 5.7 હોવાનું કહેવાય છે.

આ ભૂકંપ ફુકુશિમા પ્રીફેક્ચરમાં લગભગ 40 કિલોમીટરની ઊંડાઈએ આવ્યો હતો

જો કે સુનામીની ચેતવણી જારી કરવામાં આવી નથી.

ભૂકંપમાં કોઈ ઈજા કે મોટા નુકસાનના તાત્કાલિક અહેવાલ નથી.

ઉલ્લેખનીય છે કે માર્ચ 2011માં આ જ ક્ષેત્રના ઘણા વિસ્તારોમાં 9.0ની તીવ્રતાના ભૂકંપ અને સુનામીના કારણે તબાહી મચી ગઈ હતી.
