પ્રધાનમંત્રી શ્રી નરેન્દ્ર મોદીએ ( Narendra Modi ) અનુરા કુમારા દિસાનાયકેને શ્રીલંકાના રાષ્ટ્રપતિની ચૂંટણીમાં તેમની જીત બદલ અભિનંદન પાઠવ્યા હતા. શ્રી મોદીએ બહુપક્ષીય સહયોગને વધુ મજબૂત કરવા શ્રીલંકા સાથે નજીકથી કામ કરવાની આશા વ્યક્ત કરી હતી.

“અભિનંદન @અનુરાદિસનાયકે, શ્રીલંકાના રાષ્ટ્રપતિની ( Sri Lanka President ) ચૂંટણીમાં તમારી જીત માટે. ભારતની નેબરહુડ ફર્સ્ટ પોલિસી અને વિઝન સાગરમાં શ્રીલંકા વિશેષ સ્થાન ધરાવે છે. હું આપણા લોકો અને સમગ્ર પ્રદેશના લાભ માટે આપણા બહુપક્ષીય સહયોગને ( India Sri Lanka ) વધુ મજબૂત કરવા તમારી સાથે નજીકથી કામ કરવા આતુર છું.”
