Solar Eclipse: વિશ્વમાં વર્ષના પ્રથમ સૂર્યગ્રહણને લઈને ખગોળશાસ્ત્ર ( Astronomy ) સાથે જોડાયેલા લોકોમાં ભારે ઉત્સુકતા છે. પ્રથમ પૂર્ણ સૂર્યગ્રહણ મેક્સિકોમાં જોવા મળ્યું હતું. આવું જ દ્રશ્ય અમેરિકા અને કેનેડામાં પણ જોવા મળ્યુ હતું. મીડિયા રિપોર્ટ્સ અનુસાર, આ પૂર્ણ સૂર્યગ્રહણ દુર્લભ હતું. મેક્સિકોના સ્થાનિક સમય અનુસાર સવારે 11:07 વાગ્યે સંપૂર્ણ સૂર્યગ્રહણ જોવા મળ્યું હતું, એટલે કે સૂર્ય સંપૂર્ણ રીતે ઢંકાઈ ગયો હતો. જેના કારણે મેક્સિકોનો પ્રશાંત તટ સંપૂર્ણ રીતે અંધકારમાં ડૂબી ગયો હતો. દિવસ રાતના દ્રશ્ય જેવો અનુભવવા લાગ્યો હતો.

તે નોંધનીય છે કે ખગોળીય ઘટના ( astronomical phenomenon ) સૂર્યગ્રહણ દરમિયાન, ચંદ્ર સંપૂર્ણપણે સૂર્યપ્રકાશને ( sunlight ) અવરોધે છે. મેક્સિકો ( Mexico ) બાદ કેનેડા અને અમેરિકાના ( America ) એટલાન્ટિક કિનારે પણ સંપૂર્ણ સૂર્યગ્રહણ જોઈ શકાયો હતો. લાખો લોકો આ દ્રશ્ય જોયુ હતું.
