- કેરળ ( Kerala ) ના વાયનાડ ( Wayanad ) જિલ્લામાં ભારે વરસાદને કારણે થયેલા ભૂસ્ખલનમાં મૃત્યુઆંક (Death toll ) વધીને 80 થઈ ગયો છે.
- આજે સવારે મેપ્પડી નજીકના પહાડી વિસ્તારોમાં ભૂસ્ખલન થયું હતું, જેમાં મુંડક્કાઈ, ચુરામાલા, અટ્ટમાલા અને નૂલપુઝા ગામો સૌથી વધુ પ્રભાવિત થયા છે.
- કાટમાળ નીચે અનેક લોકો ફસાયા હોવાની આશંકા છે અને ભારે વરસાદ ( heavy rain )ને કારણે બચાવ કામગીરીમાં અવરોધ આવી રહ્યો છે.
- કેરળ સ્ટેટ ડિઝાસ્ટર મેનેજમેન્ટ ઓથોરિટી (KSDMA) એ અસરગ્રસ્ત વિસ્તારોમાં ફાયર બ્રિગેડ અને નેશનલ ડિઝાસ્ટર રિસ્પોન્સ ફોર્સ (NDRF) ટીમો તૈનાત કરી છે.
- એનડીઆરએફની વધારાની ટીમ વાયનાડ જવા રવાના થઈ છે.
- કન્નુર ડિફેન્સ સિક્યુરિટી કોર્પ્સની બે ટીમોને પણ બચાવ કાર્યમાં મદદ કરવા માટે સૂચના આપવામાં આવી છે.
- દુર્ઘટનાના પગલે કેરળમાં સત્તાવાર શોક જાહેર કરવામાં આવ્યો છે. આજે અને કાલે શોક રહેશે.
