શક્તિશાળી તોફાન ‘શાનશાન’ દક્ષિણ ક્યૂશુ ટાપુ તરફ આગળ વધી રહ્યું છે, તોફાનને પગલે અત્યંત તીવ્ર પવન અને ભારે વરસાદ વરસવાની આગાહી કરવામાં આવી છે.

શાનશાનના કારણે દક્ષિણ ક્યૂશુમાં 48 કલાકમાં 1100 મિલીમીટર (43 ઇંચ) વરસાદ પડવાની ધારણા છે

જાપાનની સરકારે અત્યાર સુધી હજારો લોકોને સલામત સ્થળે ખસેડવા ની કામગીરી શરુ કરી છે.
