Dadasaheb Phalke :  1870 માં આ દિવસે જન્મેલા, ધુંડીરાજ ગોવિંદ ફાળકે એક ભારતીય નિર્માતા-દિગ્દર્શક-પટકથા લેખક હતા, જેને “ભારતીય સિનેમાના પિતા” તરીકે ઓળખવામાં આવે છે. ભારત સરકાર દ્વારા સિનેમામાં ( Indian Cinema ) આજીવન યોગદાન માટે આપવામાં આવતો દાદા સાહેબ ફાળકે પુરસ્કાર ( Dada Saheb Phalke Award ) તેમના સન્માનમાં રાખવામાં આવ્યો છે.
