શશી થરૂરે જણાવ્યું કે તેઓ તાજેતરમાં થોડી તબિયત ખરાબ હોવાને કારણે આરામ પર હતા અને તેમની બહેન સ્મિતા થરૂરે તેમને આ સિરીઝ જોવા સલાહ આપી. સિરીઝ જો્યા બાદ તેમણે લખ્યું: “આ OTTનું ગોલ્ડ છે. લેખન તીખું છે, દિગ્દર્શન સાહસિક છે અને બોલીવૂડની ચમક-ધમક પાછળની કડવી હકીકતને ખુલ્લેઆમ રજૂ કરે છે.”થરૂરે આર્યનના દિગ્દર્શનને “સાહસિક અને પ્રભાવશાળી” ગણાવ્યું. તેમણે કહ્યું કે દરેક સીનમાં એક એવી ઈમાનદારી છે જે બોલીવૂડમાં લાંબા સમયથી જોવા મળતી નહોતી. આ સાત એપિસોડની સિરીઝ એક નવા અને સચ્ચા વાર્તાકારના આગમનનું સંકેત આપે છે.
