પેરિસ પેરાલિમ્પિક્સના સાતમા દિવસે સચિન ખિલારીએ ભારતને પહેલો મેડલ અપાવ્યો છે.

સચિન સર્જેરાવ ખિલારીએ પુરુષોના શોટ પુટ (F46)માં સિલ્વર મેડલ જીત્યો. 34 વર્ષીય ખેલાડીએ બીજા પ્રયાસમાં પોતાનો સર્વશ્રેષ્ઠ થ્રો કર્યો હતો.

સચિનના આ મેડલ સાથે ભારતના મેડલની સંખ્યા 21 થઈ ગઈ છે. ભારતે પેરિસ પેરાલિમ્પિક્સમાં અત્યાર સુધીમાં 3 ગોલ્ડ, 7 સિલ્વર અને 11 બ્રોન્ઝ મેડલ જીત્યા છે.

અગાઉ તેણે મે મહિનામાં જાપાનમાં વર્લ્ડ પેરા એથ્લેટિક્સ ચેમ્પિયનશિપમાં ગોલ્ડ મેડલ જીત્યો હતો.
